Summary

At Sidebench, I had the exciting opportunity to help create the Shoe Exchange Mobile App, designed to bring sneaker enthusiasts together and make local transactions a breeze. Drawing inspiration from platforms like OfferUp, our app lets users build profiles, leave ratings and reviews, and list their sneakers for sale. It made trading and buying sneakers easier, while also supporting sustainable practices in our communities.

My Role

I executed comprehensive market research by analyzing data, assessing competitors, and conducting usability testing to generate crucial insights into industry trends, competitive positioning, and user experience. This research informed data-driven decision-making and helped identify key market factors and user needs.

In parallel, I managed all project phases from planning to execution using Agile methodology. I coordinated with cross-functional teams to define project scope, track progress, and ensure timely delivery. By leveraging tools like Jira and Trello, I monitored tasks, managed risks, and facilitated effective communication. I also implemented strategies to address project challenges, ensuring alignment with user needs and project objectives.

Results

Competitive Edge: Through comprehensive competitive analysis and market research, we identified strategic opportunities that provided the app with a distinct competitive advantage and a strong value proposition. This was achieved by analyzing stakeholder requirements and integrating them into the project scope to address market needs effectively.

User-Centric Design: Utilizing wireframes, process diagrams, user flows, and story mapping, we implemented a user-centric design that aligns with the project’s requirements and scope. This approach ensured that the app’s interface is intuitive and meets user needs, as defined in the project charter.

Efficient Exchange Process: By optimizing the app's exchange and transaction processes, we enhanced operational efficiency and user satisfaction. We managed these improvements through effective resource planning and risk management, resulting in a streamlined and user-friendly experience that aligns with the quality management plan.

Sustainable Community Building: The app’s localization features were developed in line with the project’s sustainability objectives, promoting responsible sneaker sourcing and fostering an engaged community. This outcome reflects the project’s goals and stakeholder expectations, contributing to the overall success and impact of the project.
