Design Tool Web App

Project Image

Summary

At Sidebench, I contributed to the development of a Design Tool Web App aimed at improving the sales process for an iron and steel manufacturing company. Known for their expertise in creating fences, gates, and doors, the company was expanding into the residential market and wanted to make it easier for customers to visualize products in their homes. The app allowed customers to overlay product images onto pictures of their own homes, which not only helped them bring their ideas to life but also reduced the time salespeople spent on each lead.

My Role

In managing the project, I guided the development team through a comprehensive iterative approach that included backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives. I was responsible for managing the product backlog, prioritizing user stories, and defining acceptance criteria to ensure efficient sprint execution and high-quality deliverables. To maintain alignment with project goals, I utilized tools like Jira and Trello for creating and tracking clearly defined tickets and oversaw project phases from initial planning to launch.

This approach facilitated the integration of features that allowed users to overlay product images onto their home photos, streamlining the sales process and enhancing customer engagement. By coordinating with cross-functional teams and mitigating risks, I ensured that the project met its objectives and adhered to scope, schedule, and quality standards.

Results

Reducing Salesperson Workload: The web app optimized the sales process by providing customers with an intuitive design tool, allowing them to create and refine initial designs independently. This approach led to a 40% reduction in salesperson hours, surpassing the client's target by 15%, and was achieved through effective scope management and resource planning.

Boosted Lead Generation: Integration with Pipedrive facilitated better organization of the customer base, enhancing lead generation and management. This integration improved tracking and conversion rates, aligning with best practices in stakeholder engagement and requirements management.

Improved Administrative Oversight: Administrators gained advanced tools for managing salesperson accounts and monitoring project statuses, which supported effective project control and oversight. This enhancement was aligned with the project’s quality management plan and ensured efficient administrative processes.

Enhanced Customization and Visualization: The app’s features allowed customers to upload home photos, apply product overlays, and customize designs by color, shape, and features. This capability enabled better visualization of the final product, improving project outcomes and ensuring alignment with customer expectations and project deliverables.
